Old Business:
Repeater update given by Nick, K5BQJ reported that Charlie, N2PKW is working on a, “Memorandum Of Understanding” with the Gautier Town Council. A nominal fee, paid to the Town of Gautier was discussed and a, “Grace Period for Removal of Repeater Equipment” if needed to be taken down, plus training for City employees to get their Ham Licenses (which our Club does every Month) and to, “Support the City of Gautier” during a time of emergency.
Dan, AE5JG showed what the “Round Island” QSL card would look like. Charlie, AG5CC has been working on it and it’s ready for print. The card looks great! The Club is looking for a printer.
Dan, AE5JG is still taking orders for the Club shirts.
VE Activity: Marilyn, AF5DP reported that 6 people took exams during the Hamfest, with 4 passing - 2 Technician Class - 2 General Class.
Next Meeting:
December 10th at McElroy’s Restaurant in Ocean Springs at 6:00 p.m. Dan, AE5JG requested that everyone who plans to attend, e-mail Charlie, N2PKW or Club Secretary, Valerie, N9RQX with the number of attendees.
New Business: Kurt, K5KDO proposed the rental of a storage space to hold Club Property, suggesting an accountability checklist, reiterated by Valerie, N9RQX. She also suggested strong plastic Sterilite shelves to save space and she would take responsibility for the checklist, with keys for each Board Member. Motion to Accept by Barb, KE5QHZ; Seconded by Hank, AE5WU; Motion Carried. Richard, AF5AQ has been given responsibility to check on prices and report back, probably during the January Meeting.
Rod, KC5LCW Chairman of the Nominating Committee, read the names of the Nominees for each Office. Two Nominees withdrew their names and the results are: President – Charlie Hardt, N2PKW; Vice President – Marilyn Warner, AF5DP; Secretary – Valerie Ulmer, N9RQX; Treasurer – Charlie Carney, AG5CC. Dan, AE5JG made a motion for a Vote to be taken for all Officer Nominees because there were no other names for any position. Motion to Accept Nominees for their respective Offices made by Hank, AE5WU; Seconded by Rod, KC5LCW; Motion carried. These are the new JCARA, Inc. Club Officers for 2014. Officer pictures will be updated after December 10th.
